Creative dissatisfaction is the driving force for progress- Habit versus Training
The origin of dissatisfaction:
The lack of either material or spiritual fulfillment
or both in daily life can said to be the reason behind dissatisfaction. While
the origin has nothing to do with action the propagation of this
dissatisfaction can take various forms that may influence individuals as well
as society
What is habit and what can training add to it:
A repetitive process created out of behavioral standard
is the main objective of developing a habit. Habit is good for satisfaction because
it is inherent and natural but it fails to look beyond the current impact. Habit
basically deals with the current situation and situations accustomed to it, it
is adverse to any situation or face off that we are unused to.
While training means a processed effort to
channelize energy to a particular direction, this really has to destabilize the
structure of habit and therefore dissatisfaction must creep in.
Dissatisfaction – a negative aspect?
While training adds value and direction, it also
means forgoing many other options that could have been done. This is a concept
related to opportunity cost. The things if given an opportunity you would have done
all bear a cost and in training you have to forgo that. This comes to a rational
point only when the outcome of training is greater. Then you are at an
advantageous position.
Effective training can therefore be called the
naturalization of dissatisfaction.
Dissatisfaction and equity- a social phenomena
The concept of equity is associated with the
efficient distribution of scarce resources. In the distribution there can never
be equality and therefore a trade off between equity and equality has to be achieved.
It is not either or but how much and to what extent.
